Michael Teasley, the first white person to be president of a NAACP chapter at a historically black college and university (HBCU) was found dead at the age of 40 in his apartment in Mississippi.

Teasley, a student at Jackson State University and president of the chapter in 2010.

He faced a lot of backlash for his position as president, but gained a lot of respect on campus because people saw that he was earnestly active in the community.

The cause of his death is unknown.
