BET has suddenly become a recruiting tool for mainstream entertainment shows. Former  “106& Park” co-host AJ Calloway now does reporting duty for “Extra.” Rocsi Diaz, also from “106” is on “Entertainment Tonight.” And former “106 and Park” co-host Terrence Jenkins, better known as Terrence J., is debuting on “E! News” as of November 12 th, replacing Ryan Seacrest. Jenkins will be sharing  hosting duties with E! host Giuliana Rancic. (Free from “106” hosts the Pablo and Free Morning Show on WPGC in the Washington, D.C. area).

"Terrence Jenkins is a talented and well-connected television personality who will bring an original sensibility to our news programs," E! President of network strategy and E! News Cyndi McClellan said in a statement.

A graduate of North Carolina A &T State University where he pledged Omega Psi Phi, Jenkins hoped to continue the career in broadcasting that he’s started on the radio in college. After finding out about a BET host search underway after Free and A.J. left “106 & Park,” Jenkins went to New York to audition. When he was rejected there, he drove straight to BET auditions in Atlanta where he was chosen to host the show. In the seven years that he hosted “106 & Park” with Diaz, Jenkins moved into acting, appearing in “Stomp the Yard 2: The Homecoming,” “Sparkle,” “Think Like a Man” and on the BET TV show, “The Game.” He had a recurring role on “Kourtney and Khloe Take Manhattan” as well. He is also attached to “Baggage Claim,” an upcoming movie starring Paula Patton.

“I’ve always had a passion for the wide spectrum of pop culture that E! News covers so well; I can’t wait to get started,” Jenkins told E! Online. “I’ve had a great career so far, and it’s all been building toward this."
