Karyn White is probably best known for her 1988 hit “Superwoman” but she's been busy since then. While she hasn’t released a record in 17 years, she now has a new release, “Carpe Diem” in stores this month.

For White, it was both her initial success (she is the first female artist to hit #1 with her first three singles on a debut album) and the end of her marriage to producer Terry Lewis which ended in divorce after producing a daughter, Ashley. Now living in the Sacramento, CA area, White established a successful interior design business after retreating from the record business.

“First and foremost, while I’ve been away I was raising my daughter Ashley Lewis, who I just sent off to college,” White told Urbmagazine.com last year.  “I’m very proud of her. She’s doing broadcasting and journalism. I was also trying to be the next Donald Trump, kind of got into real estate investing. I moved to Sacramento. It was such a growing area. So I started buying homes and fixing them up and selling them. So I became a realtor and started branching out into commercial. It was great because I got to see how money works from another side. Of course, with the money I made from the music industry I was able to use it in a way with real estate, which is very common.”

White is also working with other artists and has partnered with music industry veteran Jay King, who was once part of Club Nouveau of “Rumours” fame. Watch clips of Karyn White’s videos below.
