Carl Carlton has taken a long hiatus from the music industry. But the popular 80’s R&B singer has resurfaced.

Carlton has three new songs on the market, "Saturday","Caught up"and "God is Good". He is also touring with the 70s Soul Jam and plans to do several dates in Europe and Asia.

The singer is also getting into politics. As a supporter of President Obama, Carlton has a summer of events planned to support Obama, called "The Jamma 4 Obama," a pep rally tour.

Carlton recently turned 60. Despite getting older, he says he feels like he’s in good shape. Sad about the number of friends he has lost in music in recent years, he wants to also help get the word out to African Americans on keeping active as well as watching their diets.

Carlton first sang in the late 1960s as "Little Carl" Carlton. His most popular hit, “She's a Bad Mama Jama (She's Built, She's Stacked)", became a major hit, peaking at #2 on the soul chart and earning Carlton a Grammy Award nomination for Best R&B Vocal Performance, Male.
