The Queen of Hip Hop Soul may be headed to court.

Mary J. Blige and her husband Martin Kendu Isaacs is being sued for defaulting on a $2.2 million loan.

The lawsuit filed in New York Supreme Court by Signature Bank claims that the singer and her husband owe them the loaned amount plus $58,000 in interest.

Bank officials said they’ve tried to contact the singer and her organization on several occasions and never received a response. Blige’s production company, Mary Jane Productions, Inc. is also named in the lawsuit. It is unclear what the loan was used for.

Her camp has declined to comment on the issue.

This is not the first time Blige has been in under financial scrutiny. The singer’s charity, The Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute Foundation was accused of cheating scholarship recipients of money and misappropriation of funds earlier this year.

Although she did not acknowledge any wrongdoing, Blige said she would continue to strive to fulfill the needs of the women her charity serves.

“The lives of young women are at stake,” Blige said. “I feel what they feel. I don’t want them to suffer. I promised them something and I’m gonna deliver. Period.”
