Why is it that people feel that pastors can do no wrong? They are held to a higher standard. Never forget that they are just people -- they sin, they have flaws, they have bad hair days, etc. What Rev. Sims did was wrong and he will suffer the same consequences as anybody else would who committed the same crime. Stop putting people on pedestals. Don't hold people in such unrealistically high regard that when they let down, you want to crucify them. Realize that people are only human.

ohnsonj2 – The problem with your statement is the people at Double Rock Baptist Church would have said the same thing last year: “Yes there are pastors that cheat and steal… but not MY pastor.” This man was stealing for 9 years while they went to church and gave him the money he stole. Every time, not sometime, but every time one of these guys are exposed, church people feel the need to proclaim that THEIR pastor is not like him. Why is that? Suckers must always talk themselves into being suckered. The people being pastored create these guys because they become willfully blinded to the truth.
Not all preachers are like this. He is just a crook that took these people money for his own use. He will have to answer to God on judgement day. Please do not think that all churches are like this. my pastoris is not.
He looks drug addicted, deranged, or both. Why would anybody trust that guy to be their pastor? I mean, look at his eyes and you can see he looks untrustworthy. People are fools.
