..... charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder. The attack last week injured 43 people, including 34 who suffered gunshot wounds. Army officials  believe Hasan acted alone when he jumped on a table with two handguns, shouted “Allah u akbar,” and opened fire inside a building at Fort Hood.

The 13 people killed included a pregnant soldier.

According to The Dallas Morning News, Galligan said he will ask that the trial be moved away from Fort Hood, both because of pretrial publicity and because of the emotional impact of the tragedy.

Obama said on the Thursday evening that the shooting took place, he met in the Oval Office with Secretary of Defense Gates, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff – Admiral Mullen, and FBI Director Mueller. The next morning, Obama said he met with the leadership of the military and the intelligence community, and ordered them to undertake a full review of the sequence of events that led up to the shootings.

“The purpose of this review is clear: We must compile every piece of information that was known about the gunman, and we must learn what was done with that information,” Obama said.

“Once we have those facts, we must act upon them,” Obama said. “If there was a failure to take appropriate action before the shootings, there must be accountability.”
