Oh, the irony.

For much of his 35 years, Tiger Woods has been setting golf records and shattering expectations. In 1997, he became the first person of color to win the Masters Tournament, and now, among other things, he holds a record number of career PGA wins.

Yet the more Woods rose in golf, the more distance he tried to put between himself and his blackness.

As black people everywhere celebrated Woods’ Masters triumph; as they saw him as the Jackie Robinson of a game that tends to be played in places where most blacks can only get in through the service entrance, Woods quickly spurned those accolades.

He told Oprah that it bothered him to be called black. Said, in fact, that he wasn’t black, but rather, Cablinasian – as in Caucasian-black-Indian-Asian.

Woods picked a bad time to toss the one-drop rule. Especially since it was because of the struggles of black people, and not whites, Indians or Asians, that made it possible for him to play on those country club courses rather than tend the grounds.

So it’s sort of ironic to see how Woods, the superstar golfer who worked so hard to not be seen as an achieving “black” man, could very well wind up being seen as a stereotypical one: As an oversexed brute who lusts after white women.

For the past two weeks, the Internet and the airwaves have been abuzz with news that the world’s greatest golfer is apparently one of the world’s worse husbands. Since Woods crashed his SUV in the wee morning hours on Nov. 27 in what appeared to be him trying to escape his golf club-wielding wife, Elin Nordegren, the bimbos have been erupting all over.

So far, 10 have surfaced.

Most have been hostesses or cocktail waitresses. Two are porn stars. Most had little else going for them except plastic, Barbie-doll looks and, it seems as far as Woods was concerned, accessibility.

And when Woods had sex with them, he did more than risk ruining his marriage and his endorsement-ready image.

He also risked reviving stereotypes about black men being slaves to their libidos.

Thirty-four-year-old Mindy Lawton, a waitress, claims that she and Woods had a year-long affair and that they had sex in various locations. She told The Daily Mail that Woods was “very well-endowed.”

Then there’s 24-year-old Jaime Grubbs, a Las Vegas cocktail waitress who somehow managed to hang on to all the cell phone and text messages between them; messages in which he told her that he would “wear her out.”

Rachel Uchitel, a club hostess, reportedly told friends that she and Woods had “wild Ambien sex.”

And now, T-shirts emblazoned with “Tiger Did Me” can be purchased on the Internet.

Sadly enough, those might sell even faster than the Nike gear that Woods is being paid millions to push – for now.

Woods predicament is a common tale about the wages of infidelity. Yet I wonder: Would Woods have hesitated to engage in serial adultery with a string of women with virtually nothing going for them except whiteness if he understood the stereotype?

Would a Woods who embraced racial pride instead of racial ambiguity be less inclined to risk being outed as yet another sexually reckless black man?

Perhaps.

It’s true that Woods eroded stereotypes simply by excelling at golf. It’s just too bad that he didn’t erode those stereotypes further by not racking up a string of white mistresses; women who are now spilling to the tabloids about the breadth of his lust and the length of his penis.

Because it’s a safe bet that right now, few people are seeing Woods as .....

like I said last time. I have only met ONE black female who is not trying to get an "angle", ONE. The rest are just as rotten as an old apple in a paper bag sitting on the side of the road for weeks. They are just rotten individuals. Their mothers are big sneeks, crazy, nutts, dangerous, quick to anger, keep a scowl on their face aaalll day. It is crazy. White females are not to far from the crazy road either, but black females ??? DANG.. they never Give , never. As a group black females are not a giving group of people. It is interesting at best to observe that 2/3 of the black NBA players are married to white women and 1/3 of the NFL players are married to white women ? Why is that ? TOO MUCH CHURCH.

Reasons why very rich black men, black male actors, black athletes don't marry black females.
1) TOO EVIL
2) Black females argue in the mornings and late afternoon resulting in short mortality. At this time testosterone levels are high in men. Black women for some reason are very crazy at this time of the day.
3) Too many children from previous relationships. I have only met one black female with multiple baby daddies.
4) Overweight, eat too much
5) Overchurched. No one wants a black female who is seeking the second coming of Jim Jones.

It doesn't matter whether Tiger is black, Cablasian or any other race, he is first a man. A married man. It doesn't matter whether he's had one or ten, he's married to one. Tiger Wood degraded himself by his actions. Tiger doesn't owe the public an apology, he owes the apology to his God, his family any another person hurt by his actions. Mr. Woods shouldn't lose his endorsements because the public shouldn't let an athlete who doesn't want to be a part of their life be their role model.

Let's stop the hateful words. All of us sin throughout our lives. In case you didn't know, we are made in God's image, including white people. Also, I get sick of black women bashing black men for going after white women. (I'm female). Black women set your standards high. Don't settle for less, even if some Black men don't appreciate you or put you down. Let no man treat you like Tiger Woods! Wed outside the race if you must, but don't settle for someone who doesn't treat you with dignity and respect. Focus on YOU and keep you eyes on God.

I'm upset with Tiger because I really didn't think he would fall into the stereotype like O. J. or Kobe. Something is missing in his life. He is not grounded. He is unhappy and insecure. I predict a good outcome for him. This is his "coming to God" moment. If this situation doesn't turn him, nothing will.

Even if a woman knows from jump that her husband cheats, some women do get fed up eventually. I knew a woman like that, although she just served divorce papers after he refused to go with her to marriage counseling; but she didn't get violent. You never know which straw will break the camel's back, or how long it will take for that to happen.

Russy i agree. I also heard that she was a nanny and later they mentioned a"model" like you I have never seen her in any magazines. Furthermore, I didn't know she even existed until she was linked to Tiger. And as of yesterday it sounds like girlfriend knew he was a playboy before she married him. I guess he lied and said that he was going to changed his ways and she fell for it.

Again, the timing of the “Busted” event happen when “she” had her Momma & nem around. You know that we can be “super bad” whenever we have our back up! Elin got her “green card”, “got the green $$$” while Tiger was making $$$$ on “The Greens”…..Now, this whole situation is “green”.

The media has painted the European descendant subservient waitress and dancers as “bad” but, let’s be honest, Tiger’s wife was a jump off too. He just happened to marry her. She was a “Super Nanny” Au Pair subservient chic that made a quick come up for crying out. The media paints her as a model. But, I am yet to see the Tyra Banks wanna but, can’t be in any Vogue magazine. Anyone can take a photo. Heck, if that’s the case, I am an actress without a Hollywood movie. That rich guy that Tiger’s wife was working for plug Elin up. Perhaps, he plugged his pocket book too.

In all due respect to Tiger's accomplishments, I wish him the best. Nevertheless, I question the "timing" of his wife's volatile rage that should be handling in the media the same as Chris Brown's rage. Also, we are creatures of habit, Tiger has been cheating from the go and Elin knew that. Note: I do not agree with cheating and adultery.

There is a saying that "every bird that flies high has to come down to eat"!!! How can you get on national tv and not claim your "black culture". I think Tiger needs to brush up on his history because it only takes one drop of black blood, regardless of what fancy name you may give yourself.........you are Afro American. Regardless of the things lacking with black men multitudes black women are not running for the hill, because of our resilence that has sustained us and black men throughout history. Because of over strength we are catergorized as less than somehing like white did during slavery so are brothers trying to be the new massa's. I know many black women exemplify the beauty and elegance of being a women in great measure all the while exuding her strength as a sista. It is nothing more than insecurity when a black man can't match a black women strength.

I don't know what rock these guys live under, but closer to the true is the fact many fine, upstanding black women would not give these fools the time of day.
