Actress/personality Sherri Shepherd, the star of "Sherri," knows how to stay busy. (Retna)

Actress/personality Sherri Shepherd knows how to stay busy. It’s why she’s got a book out, is a host on “The View,” TV’s most popular chatfest, and has her own sitcom on Lifetime, aptly titled “Sherri.”

Taken from her own life, Shepherd plays a single mother recreating her life after her husband’s infidelity. The show premiered on Oct. 5 of this year and was the most watched and highest rated comedy on Lifetime in the last decade.

Picked up for 12 episodes, the show’s season finale airs tonight at 10 p.m. on Lifetime.

“Cosby” kid Malcolm Jamal-Warner, now a good and grown man stars as Shepherd's cheating ex-husband, and veteran TV actor Michael Boatman ("Spin City," "The Game") plays her son's pediatrician - and her new love interest.

In the first season finale, “Indecision 09,” Sherri (Shepherd) finds herself at a crossroads between re-kindling her relationship with Kevin (Warner) and starting a new future with Randy (Boatman). Her co-worker pals, Celia (Tammy Townsend) and Angie (Elizabeth Regen), have differing opinions about whom Sherri should choose. Meanwhile, the relationship between Bart Peaslee (David Rasche) and Summer (Kali Rocha) starts to heat up.

While the show has been received well, A&E has purchased Lifetime Networks and there’s no commitment to the show as of yet. If you haven’t watched the show yet, tonight’s finale is a good time to do so. Shepherd would love to see more African-American viewership; as of right now, “Sherri” is one of only three current sitcoms on TV centered around an African-American character or cast. (“House of Payne” and "Meet the Browns" are the others.)

Sherri and ALL of her Supporting/Co-stars right down to the Littlest Actor playing her adorable son, deserve another season! The Show is a Hit, no matter what color, gender, or age. I LOVE IT, and I'm praying that they will renew it despite the buyout/merge or whatever... Keep up the Good, GREAT Work, My Sistah(s) and Brothers...
