My advice to Taraji:
A woman with children is built-in responsibility for a man. However, a woman with children has to know how to select a man that is response able. He must already have the ability to respond. She also has to GIVE him the ability to respond as a man and father with HER children. Therefore, she must not only pick a good man for her, she must also pick a good father for her children. A man who cannot discipline the children living in his home (because they are not HIS children) is not a man. If you want a man to be a man, then LET him be father to your children. DRWILL911.com
Ok, I read the whole article and now it makes more sense. The following two posts are some of the other dating tips Taraji gives men:
Have a Gentleman's Touch
"A woman is gentle, soft, delicate, and a man's position is to protect her-help her up stairs, make sure she's in the car safely first. Take good care of your woman, and the sky's the limit!"
Avoid Mama Drama
"Date a woman with children only if you are ready to man up, because it's a position that comes with responsibility. If you don't want anything too serious, then stay with women with no kids."
Taraji also said:
Be Her Safety Net
"When I meet a person and that chemistry is there, I cannot hide the electricity. I need to learn more about him, and once I feel safe, I'm gone, I'm in love, and I give it my all!"
Never Give Up on Love
"Don't be bitter if a relationship doesn't work out; it wasn't meant to be. You can't be cut off to love because you're learning and getting closer to the one."
Oniondag,
Man up .... You are a grown black man ...... Step up and take control of your situation ..... quit feeling sorry for yourself and step to the plate ...... No one gives a crap for the weak because only the strong survive ...... Quit whining like a wimp because Pres. Obama is just trying to motivate your dumb**** in to action. If you want some motivation from someone ...get it from your girl when you hand over your child support payments.... Man up
Personally, I’m getting rather tired of all this tough love garbage. It seems the entire country, including Pres. Obama whom I strongly support, thinks the way to “fix” black men is to give them a good, swift kick in the****. We’ve had enough good swift kicks. We’ve been kicked to the curb, locked up, locked out, called scrubs, and basically marginalized almost to the point of irrelevancy. How about a hug, some reaffirmation, or some positive motivation? Is that too much for a brother to ask for?
