Singer-songwriter-producer Robin Thicke has proven he can do it all, but he told Billboard in an interview while he was still working on his latest album, “Sex Therapy,” that he’s backed off a bit in favor of a little collaboration.

"I always wanted to be like Prince and write and produce myself," Thicke said in the March interview. "This time I'm not trying to take all the credit ... and work with a lot of the best producers in the business. So my sound is going to be a lot different than anything I've ever done before. The sound I'm getting is brand new for me. It's great."

That included working with Polow da Don, Teddy Riley, Jeffrey Bahsker, who has worked with Kanye West, and the Surf Krew, a team that he likened to “a young Neptunes.”

"I'm just really stretching the ceiling a little bit with an open mind, and the results have been wonderful," he said.

“Sex Therapy” also features appearances by Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Estelle, Kid Cudi and Game.

Besides all this star power, Thicke probably is hoping this album blows up the charts because baby is going to need some shoes. Thicke and his wife, actress Paula Patton, are expecting their first child in May - and they’ve already picked out names.

"We like Julian if it's a boy and Isabella if it's a girl," he told People magazine.

"My wife is good," he said, "I'm just trying to make her as comfortable as possible, and hopefully nature will take care of the rest and give us a healthy baby."

That probably gives a whole new meaning to “Shakin’ It for Daddy,” the title of one of the cuts on the album with Nicki Minaj.

Thicke will be in Chicago on Friday, San Francisco on Saturday and Los Angeles on Monday.

You think you slick don't you, TruthToday? But whose real username is LiarYesterdayToday&Tomorrow!!! I think you're one of BlackWeb's staff. Coming on here impersonating, erasing my comments because your dumbazz don't know the difference between a racist and a person who has an opinion about someone who happens to be white. I can't stand a frontin', two-faced idiot!!

I could care less who those people sold out to. My concern is being true to myself. And just because I don't think that it is representative of me to be seen with a white person on an intimate level, it don't mean that I AM HATIN'! You got your priorities mixed-up, TruthToday1. You must think that you are some kind of special person. THAT AIN'T SHYYYYT!!!

I love Robin Thicke and his dad. I love and purchase a lot of his music. I like the subtle sexuality in many of his songs and the romance.
Stop hatin! He's fine and so is his wife.
Halle Berry and her man, Paula Patton and hers.
I see a welcome trend!

I found out that Robin Thicke is a singer. I listened to bits and pieces of his music on YouTube. Thicke seems to be popular with the so-called main stream audiences. A popular song by him on YouTube seems to be "I'm Lost Without You". It's a catchy tune. But, Reality_Check, I don't get why you think "he's all of that and a bag of chips"? You honestly believe that sistas are all over him and brothas are playa hatin' on him just because Thicke is impersonatin'?!!
