Some people are born to sing, and some are born to sing sexy R&B songs. Most of the gentlemen comprising the current crop are great singers, but they’re also well known for the kinds of songs from which babies are made. We thought we’d take a look at the balladeers who always bring the sexy in their music and highlight the songs and videos that have placed them at the top of the silky soul singers' list.
Now, if you’re trying to set up a sexy situation – maybe you’re celebrating an anniversary, maybe you’re on vacation or maybe you’re just trying to get that girl or guy to say “yes” - these are the catalogues you need to look through for the iPod downloads. But be careful: If you’re not trying to make a baby, beware of these guys 'cause when the music is this good, anything’s possible.
ROBIN THICKE. Blue-eyed soul found its hottest representative when Robin Thicke came on the scene (Sorry, Timberlake.). The son of TV stars Alan Thicke and Gloria Loring, Thicke has carved out his own lane with his lovemaking music. Apparently inspired by his fabulous wife, “Precious’” Paula Patton (who also appears in “his “Lost Without You” video), his music is full of references to lovemaking, sexuality, sensuality and love. Have you seen his latest video, “Sex Therapy?” Whoa. That’s what we’d call seeeeexxxyyyyyyyy.
HOTTEST SONG:
“Lost Without You,” from “The Evolution of Robin Thicke”
SONG MOST LIKELY TO GET A "YES":
"Loverman" from “Something Else”
HOTTEST VIDEO:
“Sex Therapy”
MAXWELL. Well, what can you say about this guy? His music is like the official soundtrack for sex. His latest, “Blacksummers’night,” is certainly no exception. You may have noticed that just about every video he’s ever made takes place in or near a bedroom or hotel room. It’s because there’s just no reason to play his music anywhere else. His girlfriend must be one lucky woman as he’s not just fine; he’s got a resonant speaking voice that could talk any woman into the nearest bed, plus he’s an amazing singer/songwriter and performer. Who could ask for more?
HOTTEST SONG:
“Til the Cops Come Knockin’” from “Urban Hang Suite.”
SONG MOST LIKELY TO GET A "YES":
“Stop the World” from “Blacksummers’night”
HOTTEST VIDEO: “
Bad Habits” from “Blacksummers’night,” but honorable mention must go to
“Let’s Not Play the Game” from “The Best Man" soundtrack.
JOE. He may be one of the most low-key sexy crooners out there, but they say it’s the quiet ones you’ve got to watch. Joe has made several classics of the grown folks’ music genre, especially when you consider that he seems to enjoy love as much as he enjoys lovemaking. And that, along with his velvety voice, is what makes him special among the top male balladeers. He’s the nice guy of the bunch, for sure, but that hardly means that he’s not as sexy. In fact, nice and sexy is really the way to go, don’t you think? That’s why Joe is on this list.
HOTTEST SONG:
“Things Your Man Won’t Do” from “All That I Am.”
SONG MOST LIKELY TO GET A "YES":
“I Wanna Know” from “My Name Is Joe.”
HOTTEST VIDEO:
“If I Was Your Man” from “Ain’t Nothin’ Like Me”
Check out Joe’s site for info on his Christmas CD, “Make Sure You’re Home for Christmas,” available only at Target.
R. KELLY. Okay, so he’s had a few personal hiccups, but looking at his music on its own, you can’t deny that the man has one of the sexiest .....

Nothing is more pathetic than a woman endorsing the likes of R.Kelley...This**** admists has a problem, yet only screws black girls who are runaways...How come he is not asking those girls out in his million dollar hood...Because of the consequences, yet Tonay is endorse this bastard...If it wasn't for Tonya and other women of like minds...We would have to endure another Precious dialogue..So, I find you Tonya just a pathetic as R. Kelly himself...

R Kelly and Joe top the list for me. I'm so sick of people talking about R Kelly's past legal issues when asked about his music. We're talking about MUSIC here, not his past legal issues. R Kelly is very musically talented and his music cannot be disputed. Joe is AWESOME and I love his style! For me, the others on the list are good but they do not top Joe and R Kelly.
